Peytan Porter’s ‘Emotion-Packed Project’ Titled “In My Head” is Truly a Must-Listen (Exclusive)

Keep rising country star Peytan Porter on your radar! Her debut project In My Head came out earlier this year, and we’ve seriously had it on repeat since its release on June 24th.

Growing up in the small town of Dawsonville, Georgia, Peytan Porter had a love for music from a VERY young age, and we are so excited that her debut project is finally out for the world to hear.

When diving into the roots of Porter’s career, she revealed to us that when she started writing and creating her own music, “It was probably [at] 12 [years old], around the time Taylor Swift came out,” and we can definitely see Taylor Swift’s influence in her music.

“I look at [Taylor Swift] like a case study,” Porter explained. “I’ve got a degree in public relations, and so I love the marketing strategies behind anything, but especially the way that she’s handled her career… Swifties are doing crosswords trying to figure out what’s gonna be on her record. Like, not many artists have a grip on their fans like she does.”

We only see Peytan Porter getting bigger and bigger as she releases more music in the upcoming year, and she could truly be the next Taylor Swift!

As for Porter’s typical style of music, it tends to consist of classic country storytelling with elements of pop music thrown in, ultimately creating tracks that are super fresh, all while capturing raw emotions. Her debut project In My Head captures her unique style PERFECTLY, containing 7 songs that are ALL hits.

As someone who teases a lot of her music to her TikTok followers, Porter told us that In My Head features “some things that have been on TikTok,” and she was really excited “to give people final and full versions that they latched on to from that platform” upon the album’s release.

Amassing hundreds of thousands of followers, it is clear that TikTok has contributed to Porter’s music career in a HUGE way, allowing her songs to reach audiences she would have never expected. In order to stay up to date on any upcoming releases, be sure to give her a follow on TikTok @peytanporter.

In addition to this, one of the most unique elements of In My Head is that Porter describes it as an “emotion-packed project” that covers complex emotions on each and every track.

One of the songs in particular, “First Stone,” “is just about wanting people to get along.” Being the middle child with both an older and younger sister, Porter revealed to us, “I’ve always been the peacekeeper of the family… ‘First Stone’ definitely comes from that.”

We love seeing Porter draw inspiration from personal experiences, as it makes her songs much more authentic and real!

On the other side of the spectrum, her song “Therapy,” the most popular song on the album, captures an entirely different set of emotions.

“That song, we wrote it and I had just gone through this terribly toxic relationship,” Porter said. “I can’t afford therapy, I’m in college, but [reclaiming all of these spots around Nashville] is my version of it. I’m taking back all of these things that I felt like he had taken from me.”

While we will be anxiously awaiting even more music from Porter, we will continue streaming our new favorite album, In My Head. Listen below and let us know which song you enjoy most by either leaving a reaction at the bottom of the post or by sending us a tweet at @celebsecrets.
