“It’s not the typical love song even though it started from a somewhat normal place of good old-fashioned unrequited love. But I wanted it to be darker and somewhat creepy, while also sounding sincere and sweet, because (in the song) she truly believes they are going to be together,” Gerle exclusively told Celeb Secrets “ I think, nowadays, social media plays a giant part in a normal person feeling like/becoming a creeper. We have all done it, whether it’s a friend, an ex, or a celebrity – we all check up on people. You don’t have to show up at someone’s door or hide in the shrubs in their backyard to be a stalker nowadays. Just head to their Insta profile, and they basically give you a front-row seat,” she adds.
Now, the breakthrough artist has brought this message to life in her recently released music video. However, Gerle took a comic approach, as she is portrayed as a sassy cartoon character who is in a romantic relationship with a dinosaur. The music video takes viewers on a wild rollercoaster ride, as the storyline takes a sudden turn when her crush goes radio silent.
The lovable lyrics quickly twisted and the singer transformed into a heated dinosaur to display the weight and anger that is instilled within her lyrics. Like any relationship, there are ups and downs. So, to top off the hectic music video – the two walked away hand-in-hand, engaged and ready to live their happily ever after.
