Deacon Phillippe, son of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe, just released his debut album, A NEW EARTH.
The 19-year-old NYU student has twelve songs on his first-career album, including ten solo songs and two collaborations with Chain Arcade.
Deacon took to social media to give some insight on the album and mentioned that he created it alongside two of his college buddies in a dorm, “This project was created in my dorm, made by three college kids with big dreams and bigger hearts,” said Deacon on Instagram. Deacon’s friends that worked on this album with him are Chain Arcade and Jaden Miller.

Deacon wrote very emotionally about it, calling “A NEW EARTH” a way of letting out all of the emotions bottling up inside him for the 19 years of his life. Deacon also described this project as a way of coping with stress and being able to let everything out by saying, “And while I can’t say for certain what it will do for you, but for me, it showed me that you don’t have to leave this planet to find A NEW EARTH.”
Just recently, Phillippe performed his music for the first time in Baltimore, decked out in Orioles gear to salute the town’s MLB team.

It is interesting to see the son of two actors be a musician, as neither Reese nor Ryan has ever created music throughout their long careers.
