Saoirse Ronan, Paul Mescal, and LaKeith Stanfield have been tapped to star in the sci-fi thriller, Foe, directed by Garth Davis.
The film will be an adaptation of the bestselling book, Foe by Ian Reid. This won’t be the first time that Reid has had one of his books adapted into a movie. His book, I’m Thinking of Ending Things, was adapted into a film that was released on Netflix in 2020.
According to Deadline, the story takes place in the future during a time where Earth is being invaded by “corporate power and environmental decay.” Junior (Mescal) and Hen (Ronan) are a couple who live on a quiet farm. One day, a man named Terrance (Stanfield) shows up at their door to tell them that Junior has been chosen to go to an experimental space station orbiting the planet. As Junior prepares to leave, Hen is met with company that could change her life forever.
Fans of the actors seem to be ecstatic about the news! One user tweeted, “Your telling I’m getting a movie with Paul mescal, Saoirse Ronan AND LaKeith Stanfield?? TAKE MY MONEY😭.”
