Today, L’Uomo Vogue  has revealed images of Shawn Mendes in preview of his feature in the magazine’s October “The Charmers†issue, and it features the singer/songwriter as you’ve never seen him before (in a good way).
The 18-year-old shared many things with the magazine, including how he conquers stage fright, what he looks for in a girl, and what he’s learned from Taylor Swift:
On conquering stage fright: “The first few times I was really nervous. And in the end I always am whenever I step onto a stage, although now I’m more aware and confident. How do I beat the tension? I prepare my voice by eating manuka honey according to grandmother’s recipe. And then I isolate my mind, focusing only on the music.â€
On what he looks for in a girl: “A good sense of humor and a strong personality.â€
On what he learned from Taylor Swift: “There is no level of success that allows you to stop working hard. The way I stay ‘healthy’ is by reminding myself that I sing out of passion, to have fun. I make music because I love it, but I want to keep my feet on the ground. My parents and my 12-year-old sister are proud of what’s happening, but they haven’t changed anything in the way they act around me. And the same is true for my old friends, who are and remain my whole world. It was with them that I celebrated my 18th birthday on August 8th.â€
