The streets of New York are starting to look like early 2020, as designers, influencers, celebrities and members of the media are coming together for NYFW: The Shows 2022 at multiple venues across the borough of Manhattan.
On Friday (September 9), contemporary brand SIMONMILLER debuted its Spring/Summer 2023 collection in SoHo, and the Celeb Secrets team was one of the first to see the new silhouettes that featured bold prints, textures and colors that are synonymous with the brand’s playful world of luxury.
Transported to a “Candy Village” in the heart of New York City, we were brushing shoulders with the brand’s CEO and Creative Director, Chelsea Hansford, along with celebs like Amanda Steele, Delilah Belle Hamlin, Yovanna Ventura, Annie Hamilton, Tessa Brooks and Grece Ghanem walk through immersive and interactive vignettes with art installations by sculptor, Leonard Urso, food design by Bad Taste, and cocktails by Lo-Fi Aperitifs.
Our favorite looks of the day? Hands down the three gowns that embody full “mermaid goddess” vibes below. We guarantee that you’ll turn heads in each of these pieces, whether you’re on the red carpet, a formal shindig, or the tropical island of your dreams.
“The SS23 collection is inspired by the textures of natural candies of the tropics,” the brand said in a statement that was posted to its Instagram account. “Creative Director, Chelsea Hansford, dreams of a world where the clothes are candy and the candy are clothes. Tactile coconut flakes, swirling taffy, candy wrappers and licorice are building blocks of the island’s wardrobe. The collection seeks to recreate the joy and excitement of a sugar rush!”
