Sydney Sweeney is joining the web of actors in the Marvel Universe!
The Euphoria star is set to join the upcoming cast of Madame Web, according to Deadline.
Madame Web, which is an upcoming film in Sony’s Marvel cinematic universe, is based on the original comic book. In the comic book, the main character, Madame Web, is an elderly woman who depends on a “web” of life support. Madame Web’s character is extremely intelligent and also possesses psychic abilities and powers.
Dakota Johnson is scheduled to play the unsung hero. She will also be the first female superhero in the Sony/Marvel universe. Although Sweeney’s role in the movie is yet to be announced that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating. Some fans are suggesting the actress can fill the role of either “Black Cat” or “Gwen Stacy.”

Sweeney is known for her role as “Cassie” in the phenomenon hit show Euphoria, which quickly put the actress on the map. In fact, Sweeney is currently filming for a film project titled, National Anthem. Despite Sweeney’s busy schedule, it looks like she couldn’t pass up the opportunity to join the iconic Marvel Universe.
Johnson and Sweeney are the first to officially be announced ahead of the film. Madame Web will be directed by S.J. Clarkson and written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. The film is yet to set a release date.
