I don’t know about you, but Taylor Swift is feeling 22! Swift has officially graduated with New York University’s (NYU) class of 2022!
Well, the day has officially come for Swift to graduate for the first time ever.
In a TikTok posted earlier today (May 18), Swift showed herself getting ready for the ceremony. In a shot of the video, you can even see Swift’s dad taking photos of the singer in the cap and gown. Swift captioned the post, “Wearing a cap and gown for the very first time – see you soon NYU 🥺🥰🗽”.
According to NBC News, Swift walked the stage as the crowd erupted in cheers for the Grammy award-winning singer. The outlet reports that Swift began her speech by introducing herself. She then shared a funny moment, “Last time I was in a stadium this size I was dancing in heels and wearing a glittery leotard. This outfit is much more comfortable.”
In her speech, the singer also joked about how she was most likely chosen to attend the ceremony due to her song “22”. The outlet reports she even gave the class of 2022 some life hacks to achieving their dream, sharing to “never be ashamed of trying.”
As Swift neared the end of her speech she said, “We are led by our gut instincts…and you will screw it up sometimes, and so will I…we will breathe in, breathe through, breathe deep, and breathe out. I am a doctor now, so I know how breathing works.” Swift concluded with, “I hope you know how proud I am to share this day with you. We’re doing this together so let’s keep on dancing like we’re the class of 22.”
