Last Date With Rachael
After the hard goodbye with Michelle, Matt canceled his final date with Rachael to get more clarity. “I need time to really think about where I’m at with Rachael, what is our relationship built on?” Matt sad during an on-camera interview.
“I feel pretty in the dark right now. He never expressed any kind of worry or concern or confusion. Not once. It’s like, very blindsiding,” says Rachael after finding out her date won’t be happening.
Although Matt was experiencing an internal battle and numerous emotions, he still met with Jeweler Neil Lane. “Maybe need to hold that ring in my hand,” Matt said.
Well after picking out and holding a pear-cut diamond ring, he still had uneasy feelings about proposing. “This is more than just a ring to me. It represents what my father couldn’t give to my mother. It represents a lot of broken promises and if I put this ring on Rachael’s finger, I would never want it to come off.”
That’s when he decided to give Rachael the answers she was looking for. The troubling bachelor asked his leading lady to meet him at the lake to have a serious conversation.
When the two met face-to-face for the first time, she shared that she was feeling anxious and upset. “I want to be there for you when you’re hurting,” says Rachael. “And when you’re hurting, I’m hurting. And I don’t know what happened yesterday, but I do know I’m not going to run just when it gets tough. I don’t know if you still want this but regardless, I feel so unbelievably lucky just to have felt what I have felt for you. I never felt a love like this in my entire life and at the end of the day I just want you to be happy, but I just know with all my heart that love you, and I will choose you every day from here on out if you’ll let me.”

“You’re everything that I came here looking for,” says Matt in response. “I want to be everything to you, I want to be everything for you that my dad wasn’t for my mom and as I’m wrestling with what I’m going to do today, the easy thing for me to do would be to brush those feelings and emotions off and make you happy. That’s to propose to you today,” he said before breaking the bad news.
“But I couldn’t live with myself if I put you through what my mom has been through. I’ve seen what rushing into a proposal, a marriage can do in my family and it’s ugly and it’s not something I want for you or for us. And that’s why I can’t propose to you today.”
However, Matt explained that he wants to continue their relationship and be together. “When I think about the life I want to live, I think about living that life with you,” he said. “And I want to leave here with you. I want to commit to you and to every day moving on, what we started here. And the truth is that I love you.”
In conclusion, Matt gave Rachael the finale rose and shared that he sees her as the mother of his children one day. After accepting the rose, the two left together in a horse and carriage🌹
