Michael A.’s One-On-One Date
As if the group date didn’t bring Bachelor Nation on an emotional rollercoaster ride – Michael A. did not hold back during his intimate time with Katie. During the dinner portion of the date, Michael opened up about his wife, Laura, who passed away two years ago.
His wife lost her battle to breast cancer just months after having their son, James. While sharing the sad news and explaining how he had to get his life back on track after the passing, Michael broke down crying. Before Katie could question whether or not Michael was ready for another serious relationship, he said, “I know what it’s like to love. I know what it’s like to give everything. I have finally gotten to this place where I’m ready to open up my heart. What a gift to be able to fall in love twice.”
Katie told the cameras in a confessional, “I think this could be the start of me falling in love with Michael” after giving him a rose and admitting that the rose also symbolized her accepting his son, James.
