On Monday, May 3, the ABC franchise dropped a new promo video featuring Katie Thurston, The Bachelorette season 17 leading lady. Come June 7, Bachelor Nation will be ready to press play with a glass of wine in hand to watch Katie find her special someone.
Luckily, Katie is no stranger to our television screens, as she was a contestant on the latest season of The Bachelor with Matt James. We quickly got to know her witty, honest, and strong-willed personality – which made her a shoo-in for the starring role.
However, Katie surprised reality-tv goers when she stepped out of the limo during night one to make her very first impression with a vibrator behind her back. The self-love and bold nod stunned Matt James but left an ever-lasting mark on Bachelor Nation.
“Haven’t seen something that big before,” James told E! News. “It was extremely distracting, you know, making noises and just catching light in a bunch of different ways, so it’s hard to stay focused.”
Now, the franchise is bringing the legendary moment to light in the recent season 17 promo video. “See what all the BUZZ is about,” says Thurston on social media while referencing The Bachelorette’s new tagline. “Join me on June 7th as @bacheloretteabc on ABC #thebachelorette.”

Although, the hysterical sex toy is not the only impression that the Bachelor star left. Katie was known for stopping harsh rumors and standing up to the “bullies” in the house – Anna Redman, Victoria Larson, Kit Keenan, and MJ Snyder.
Throughout season 25, we witnessed Thurston put her best foot forward in order to make it a happy and healthy environment for everyone in the ‘house’…aka hotel. However, we quickly learned that Katie does not put up with unnecessary drama…which indicates how the upcoming season will go down.
On Sunday, April 25, the franchise released the first promo video that shares Katie’s priorities and perspective on the upcoming season. “I am who I am,” says the Bachelorette in the clip. “I want to meet someone who knows who they are. My person is still out there.”
Katie’s journey will be hosted by former Bachelorettes Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristow – since Chris Harrison is taking a temporary break from the franchise following the racial insensitive situation associated with Rachael Kirkconnell. According to E! News, filming Katies season was a completely different experience and dynamic.
“It was a lot of female energy in one bubble and hard for Katie to have the full spotlight,” a source close to Bachelor Nation told the news outlet. Rumor has it that the co-hosts “have extremely outgoing personalities.”
