The brothers meet up with Olympic hurdler Sydney McLaughlin and four-time gold medalist Sanya Richards-Ross to kick off their Olympic training.
Kevin, Nick, and Joe meet up to train with Olympic hurdler Sydney McLaughlin and four-time gold medalist Sanya Richards-Ross to get things started. Their first order of business is to get used to the rhythm of the hurdles by practicing drills with mini hurdles.
Kevin is the most confident of the three, having had previous experience with the sport. However, as the guy’s transition to more enormous hurdles, they find it a bit more complicated than expected.
“For anyone watching the Olympics at home this year and thinking to yourself, ‘I could do that.’ Let me just tell you something: you can’t,” Nick and Kevin say in unison. Joe and Nick then poke fun at Kevin for feeling the physical strain of the training by calling him “old.”
On event day, all three of the brothers are confident that they will come out on top. Joe says, “Kevin and Nick are no longer my brothers. Today, we are athletes all going for the gold.”
As the race kicks off, Kevin leads with Joe and Nick following closely behind. After 10 seconds, Nick fumbles over a hurdle and tumbles to the ground, but quickly gets back up.
Kevin ends up finishing in first place! The brothers give each other high fives after a job well done. Nick appears a bit embarrassed about his fall, but nothing stops him from getting back up again. After the medal ceremony, the brothers set off to their next event: gymnastics!
