On the heels of the announcement that a Descendants sequel is in development, the stars of the Disney Channel hit movie Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Cameron Boyce and Booboo Stewart, along with executive producer and director Kenny Ortega hosted a special fan event yesterday (October 17) at Downtown Disney in Anaheim, California.
The ultimate fan event celebrated the success of Descendants and featured a meet and greet with the cast members and Kenny Ortega, a sing-along with songs from the official Descendants soundtrack, and a Q&A panel where Dove, Sofia, Boboo and Cameron answered some questions about themselves, the movie, and the newly-announced Descendants 2, which was revealed on Thursday morning.
“By almost every measure – domestically and globally – ‘Descendants’ has already become one of the biggest entertainment properties of the year and we’re eager to delve deeper into the unfolding mythology of Auradon and Isle of the Lost,” Gary Marsh, President and Chief Creative Officer, Disney Channels Worldwide said. “This kind of compelling, innovative storytelling, alongside our animated ‘Descendants: Wicked World’ shorts and unique transmedia campaign, continues to lay the groundwork for multiple franchise opportunities across virtually every line of business at The Walt Disney Company.”
