The very first photos of Warner Bros.‘ Space Jam: A New Legacy just released and its made us more excited for the movie than we already were!
LeBron James is channeling all his ~main character energy~ to fill in Michael Jordan’s shoes in the updated remake of the beloved classic film.

This is the first time James has ever been the leading man in a film, and to no surprise, all eyes are on him. But in true LeBron James fashion, he isn’t worried at all.
He tells Entertainment Weekly, “In my younger days, part of my thinking was ‘Space Jam was so good, how can I top this?’ ” James says. “There’s always going to be conversations about LeBron trying to do everything Michael [did]. But I’ve gotten older, and you know who you are. You know what you stand for.”

In an exclusive with EW, James, as well as everyone else working on this movie, has reiterated that this movie is not a sequel to the original film. Space Jam: A New Legacy will live entirely on its own as a standalone movie.
And the synopsis of the movie definitely proves that! In the original film, Jordan and the rest of the Tune squad are competing in a basketball game to get the mojo of the NBA greats back, while Space Jam: A New Legacy‘s storyline is about getting James’ son, played by 16-year-old Cedric Joe, back after he’s kidnapped by a CGI Humanoid named Al G Rhythm, played by Don Cheadle.
