Week five of the NFL season was another bad one for the Denver Broncos as they were defeated 12-9 by the Indianapolis Colts at home on Thursday Night Football this week (October 6).
Both sides of the ball for Denver were at opposite ends as their defense played superbly while the offense played horribly and, quite frankly, embarrassing.
The Colts offense wasn’t great either, but they somehow managed to find a win in this low-scoring affair to pick up their second win of the season against a Super Bowl champion quarterback; this one against Russell Wilson, and the other against Patrick Mahomes.
Russell Wilson’s struggles continued in this one as the former Seahawks star made horrible decisions and inaccurate throws throughout the contest. What stood out the most was the bad decision-making by Wilson, as he has been known to be one of the most intelligent players in the league throughout his career. After the game, it was revealed that he suffered a shoulder injury; however, no excuses should be made for Wilson’s poor decision-making, as that has nothing to do with having a hurt shoulder. If it were simply that he could not be accurate or have full arm strength, it would be understandable. Still, his bad decision-making should 100% not be excused.
In the wake of a painful loss, #Broncos QB Russell Wilson spent Friday in LA getting a procedure he hopes will improve discomfort near his throwing shoulder, sources say.

Hopefully, Wilson can bounce back from this tough start and injury to return to some form of the Seattle Russ we all miss watching. Everyone has slumps like these, and there are indeed better days ahead for Wilson as he has proven critics wrong time and time again; whether it was in college when he transferred from North Carolina State to Wisconsin; proving draft critics wrong who criticized his height as well as falling to the third round of the draft and becoming arguably the best quarterback of that deep draft class in 2012.
The Broncos have another prime-time game coming up as they fly to Los Angeles on Monday Night Football to take on Justin Herbert and the Chargers; although it looks as if Wilson will play in that one, we shall wait and see how much the shoulder injury is truly affecting him.
As for the Colts, they will look to build off of this one as they play host to Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars in week six.
