The night was approaching the end, and it was time for act seven: The Lazy Generation. The self-proclaimed group of “professional idiots” is from London, England, and they already have their own TV show on Comedy Central UK where they showcase an array of comedic stunts. For their audition, the crew jumped sprayed hot sauce in each other’s faces, had a pillow fight on top of thumbtacks, and got zapped by a cattle rod. Even though Sofia gave them a big fat X, the other three judges voted yes, with Howie comparing them to an “English version of Jackass.”

As the group took the stage, audience members were already covering their eyes and ears in preparation for what was to come. The men started off in ballet attire, pirouetting along to quaint music, before the madness began. As one member chopped off his own hair onstage, another was running backward and falling off of a treadmill. The cameras then cut to one of the guys standing with his legs spread over a seesaw, while the largest member of the group jumped on the other end. As if it couldn’t get more chaotic, the entire group began a tug-of-war contest… while standing over a pit full of cacti. Sofia hit her buzzer, and once again, was the only judge to do so.

“I thought that was beautiful,” Simon said, to everyone’s dismay. “This is not to everyone’s liking, however, it’s different, you risked your lives… I thought it was stunning.” Cannot say that we agree with him on that one.

“I feel it’s unnecessary pain,” Sofia said as the crowd booed her. “But for whatever reason, people love watching other people getting hurt — why else are fail videos so popular?”

“Regardless, the question is not whether or not the act is simply entertaining, but whether or not it’s deserving of a 1 million dollar prize. Not to mention the obvious — this is a TALENT show, and from where I’m sitting, it doesn’t take a whole lot of talent to be an idiot on stage. High pain tolerance? Maybe. No shame? Definitely. Talent? I don’t think so,” she continued.
