The Weeknd to Make American Music Awards Debut with Performing “The Hills” Next Sunday

dick clark productions and ABC announced today that The Weeknd will perform at the 2015 American Music Awards and we are super excited for this.

The Weeknd, a first-time AMA nominee, will debut his hit song “The Hills,” marking his first full performance on the AMAs. The Weeknd is nominated this year in the categories of Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year Presented by Kohl’s, Song of the Year, Favorite Male Artist – Soul/R&B and Favorite Album – Soul/R&B. He is tied with Ed Sheeran for the second-highest number of nominations at this year’s show.

He joins previously announced host and performer Jennifer Lopez, as well as 5 Seconds of Summer, Coldplay, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Nick Jonas, Demi Lovato, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, One Direction, Gwen Stefani, Carrie Underwood, WALK THE MOON, duets from Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth, Luke Bryan featuring Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town and the legendary Star Wars score to be performed by pop super group Pentatonix and a full symphony orchestra.

The 2015 American Music Awards, the world’s biggest fan-voted award show, will broadcast live on Sunday, November 22 at 8:00pm ET on ABC.
