The Weeknd is done teasing fans and has officially released the video for his song “Out of Time.”
For the past couple of days, the Grammy award winner has been teasing fans online with stills from the video for “Out of Time”. Well, fans will no longer have to wait, because the singer dropped the video today (April 5th).
The new music video features Squid Game star, HoYeon Jung, who plays The Weeknd’s love interest. The two have flirty exchanges as they are seen hitting it off in a hotel, followed by grabbing drinks, dancing around, and sining karaoke of the song in the middle of a room.
The video seems pretty straightforward with the two just having fun, until all of a sudden, the viewer hears a familiar voice. The voice says, “Don’t you dare touch that dial, because like the song says you are out of time.”
The video suddenly turns eerie as you see flashes of The Weeknd sitting in a doctor’s chair staring at his now aged hands. The doctor, played by Jim Carey, stares through a zoomed mirror looking at The Weeknd.
Carey grabs a human-like mask as the video ends with his spine-chilling speech telling viewers not to panic as more music will play, “On 103.5 Dawn FM.” This is a subtle nod to the singer’s album and has left fans wondering if there are more music videos to come.
