With The GRAMMYs just around the corner, CS4U is ecstatic to see the elegant ensembles, the well-deserved winners, and of course the unique performances! Thanks to the lovely folks at The Recording Academy, we now have a little glimpse of what we can expect from music’s biggest night: The 58th Annual Grammy Awards!
For those who don’t know The Recording Academy is an organization of esteemed musicians, producers, songwriters, engineers, and recording professionals who dedicate their lives to help improve the quality of life for music and its creators. Because of their focus on recognizing musical excellence and ensuring that the beauty of music always remains a part of our culture, they’re considered the most credible brand in music.
Sticking to their traditional ways of creating never-before-seen performances, The Academy have revealed a series of collaborations that will take place at the ceremony. The list features the following pairs:
- James Bay (nominated for Best New Artist, Best Rock Song, Best Rock Album) and Tori Kelly (nominated for Best New Artist)
- Andra Day (nominated for Best R&B Performance, Best R&B Album) and Ellie Goulding (nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance)
- Sam Hunt (nominated for Best New Artist, Best Country Album) and Carrie Underwood (nominated for Best Country Solo Performance)
This will mark the Grammy debut for Andra Day, James Bay, Tori Kelly, Sam Hunt, and Ellie Goulding. In addition to the once-in-a-lifetime collabs, there will also be performances from the world’s top acts. The previously announced performers include:
- Adele
- Kendrick Lamar
- Little Big Town
- The Weeknd
- Justin Bieber
- Pitbull
Entertainer, actor, and two-time Grammy winner LL COOL J (Spike’s Lip Sync Battle) is slated to host the big event on Monday, February 15th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Be sure to tune in to CBS at 8 pm ET/ 5 pm PT to catch these and many more performances!
