WATCH: We Virtually Visit the Set of “Sydney to the Max” to Get Season 3 Secrets From the Cast

The moment we’ve all been waiting for is finally here — Sydney to the Max‘s third season premieres tonight (March 19)!

Our favorite besties from 2021– aka Sydney (played by Ruth Righi) and Olive (played by Ava Kolker) — are back for more adventures with epic flashbacks from Max (played by both Ian Reed Kesler and Jackson Dollinger) and his bestie Leo (played by Christian J. Simon) from the 1990s.

DISNEY CHANNEL FAN FEST – Disney Channel Fan Fest, a unique experience for kids, families and more than 50 Disney Channel stars, took place today at Disney California Adventure park. Throughout the exciting day, thousands of kids and families enjoyed Q&A sessions and “meet and greets” with Disney Channel stars. (Disney Channel/Image Group LA)

According to Disney Channel, season 3 of Sydney to the Max will be its boldest season yet as Sydney and her friends, along with Young Max and Leo in the ’90s, embark on eighth grade and take on challenging and relevant issues such as struggles with cultural identity, trying to fit in, coping with divorce and the impact of microaggressions.

It will continue to follow outgoing middle schooler Sydney Reynolds who lives with her single dad Max in the house he grew up in, along with her free-spirited grandmother Judy (played by Caroline Rhea). As Sydney navigates becoming a teenager alongside her bestie Olive, Max’s flashbacks of his childhood with his best friend Leo parallel her adventures, illustrating how life’s “growing pains” evolve but don’t really change.

In the premiere episode titled “Tearin’ Up My Room,” Sydney enlists Olive to help remodel her bedroom to fit her new “artsy Syd” 8th grade persona (with her dad’s permission, of course). In the ‘90s, Max is struggling being the shortest kid in his class and tries to make himself look taller.
