Nashville folk artist Zoë Nutt has released her emotionally-driven video for her latest single, “Like You”.
The black and white captioned video tugs at the heartstrings while Nutt explains in the beginning monologue what life is like living with progressive hearing loss.
The lyrics tell the story of a mother who will not have the chance to experience the everyday things mothers with hearing do.
“My ears won’t hear the sound of your screams,“ Nutt sings. “But I will feel you giggle as I press you to my chest.”
Nutt made the single available for download on Noisetrade, where all proceeds will go to the Hearing Loss Association of America.
The single comes off of Nutt’s first full-length release, LIKE YOU, which is available here on iTunes.
Says Nutt of the video:
“I purposely released this music video after my album’s release. I am not one to define myself by my hearing loss. It will always shape me, but it should never be the pinnacle of what makes me Zoë.”
