During the pandemic, multi-talented actress and writer Katrina Kusa took a short hiatus to hone in on her sound and rediscover herself, ultimately emerging as a new recording artist named W!G.
Inspired by her obsession with wigs, the budding pop star introduced the world to her new project with the release of her song “Candy Land” back in November of 2021. Upbeat and vibrant, the record combines modern pop influences with a hard beat and a sing-song style rap cadence that invites listeners into the artist’s creative mind.
After receiving tons of positive feedback, W!G decided to give fans a deeper look inside her musical journey by releasing a visualizer for “Candy Land.” The colorful, yet haunting visual was inspired by her love of candy as well as the different ways you can express yourself emotionally.
“I wanted the visualizer for ‘Candy Land’ to implement bright colored scenes as well as dark aspects due to the message of the song being about losing your innocence at a young age,” W!G tells Celeb Secrets in an exclusive interview. “The scenes I pictured for ‘Candy Land’ were inspired by my love of candy and the different ways you can express yourself emotionally, whether it is through colors, clothing, or other imagery.”
Celeb Secrets caught up with the social media sensation to learn more about the visual and its meaning, her new book, what’s to come from new music and her exciting summer plans.

Celeb Secrets: Welcome back W!G, thank you for chatting with us! Can you tell us a little bit about your visualizer for “Candy Land” and what inspired it?
W!G: “I wanted the visualizer for ‘Candy Land’ to implement bright colored scenes as well as dark aspects due to the message of the song being about losing your innocence at a young age. CS: “Candy Land” has been one of your most popular releases. What has it been like to see the song continue to grow, and how has the fan reaction been to the new visualizer?
W!G: “It has felt amazing to see the song continue to grow! ‘Candy Land’ was the first record I released as W!G and for it to still be a fan favorite is so exciting. I am so grateful for the amount of positive responses I’ve received in regards to the visualizer and can’t wait to share more.”
CS: In addition to new music, what can fans expect from you in the coming months? Are you working on any other fun projects that you can tell us about?
W!G: “In the coming months, you can expect to see a new film I have been working on. I am also in the process of editing my book, ‘The Strange Stillness of Time,’ and of course, I am working on new music that I am excited to share soon!”
CS: Do you have any fun summer plans that you can share with us?
W!G: “I am so excited to see Kenny Chesney sing live in concert later during the summer. He is such an inspiration for many artists in the industry.”
