On Saturday, Feb. 25, acting legend Woody Harrelson and rock star Jack White made history after appearing on Saturday Night Live for the fifth time in their careers. Harrelson and White were each gifted blue jackets at the end of the episode after joining the likes of Tina Fey and Will Ferrell in this exclusive group.
There were many great sketches throughout the episode, including one of Harrelson being a Marines leader that involved many of the funny men of SNL’s cast, including Keenan Thompson and Mikey Day.
Harrelson also participated in multiple sketches involving superstar comic actress Chloe Fineman including one of the two acting as a couple in a skit at a prison with Harrelson’s character as an inmate; that sketch also included Thompson and Ego Nwodim as prison security guards.
The other sketch involving Harrelson and Fineman was a parody of the making of The Whale starring Brendan Fraser.The sketch was named “The Hippo,” and Harrelson’s character in it gained more than 400 pounds to play the role of the Hippo. However, no studio picked up the movie due to its similar script to The Whale.
As for White, the rock star performed multiple songs throughout the show, including “Fear Of The Dawn” and “A Tip from You to Me.”
During the show’s final scene – White appears with his five-timers jacket on, as Harrelson looks around confused when suddenly fellow five-timers club member, Scarlett Johansson surprised Harrelson with an SNL five-timers jacket of his own.
Johansson is currently married to Weekend Update co-host Colin Jost.
