Zillennial Finance Expert “Mrs Dow Jones” Shares How Jewelry Insurance is Part of the Financial Glow Up You Need This Holiday Season (Exclusive)

If Santa had a Chief Financial Officer, it would be Haley Sacks, the hilariously sharp, pop-culture-driven money expert better known as Mrs. Dow Jones. And in this Celeb Secrets exclusive, she’s sleighing (yes, sleighing) her way through the chaos of holiday shopping, skyrocketing gold prices, and full-on proposal season — all while sounding like your financially fearless best friend.

But this year, she’s adding a new sparkle to her financial empire: a partnership with Jewelers Mutual designed to help people protect their most precious pieces. Because as Haley puts it, “Jewelry is obviously not just a beautiful accessory. It’s something people are spending a lot of money on, and it’s important to have insurance that can protect it.”

And honestly? Mrs. Claus could never.

Between engagement rings popping up on Instagram like it’s the Met Gala red carpet and gold and silver rising faster than ticket prices for a Taylor Swift show, Haley says it’s officially time to treat your jewelry like an investment portfolio.

“Jewelry really is the most expensive thing that you own behind your house and your car, so it really does make sense to have dedicated jewelry insurance,” she shares with Celeb Secrets, referencing Jewelers Mutual’s 2025 study.

In other words: ‘Tis the season to insure.

She warns that relying on home or renters insurance is basically the equivalent of using hot glue on a broken ornament… it technically works, but you might not like the aftermath.

“It can skyrocket your rates,” she explains. “And it doesn’t cover your jewelry as fully as a Jewelers Mutual policy would.”

For anyone planning to pop the question between now and Valentine’s Day, Haley has one message: protect. your. sparkle.

But the biggest myth she’d erase forever? “That you don’t need a prenup,” she laughs. “You need Jewelers Mutual insurance for that ring — and a prenup to protect yourself.”

Haley also believes that financial transparency is romantic. “When you’re in a couple, you’re teammates,” she says. “Getting on the same page financially and aligning on your goals should feel romantic.”

Additionally, her love language is money dates. Before picking up gifts, matching pajamas, or that one glittery dress you’ve been eyeing, Haley says every shopper needs a plan.

“Having that money date is so important before holiday shopping so that you have boundaries for how much you can spend… just because something that’s on sale does not mean that it’s free.”

And when New Year’s resolutions roll around? She’s begging you to stop with the all-or-nothing changes.

“This whole idea that like, come January 1st, you’re never gonna buy a coffee again… we’re gonna go from zero to hero overnight,” she says. “I think it’s really extreme and doesn’t support long-term financial habits.”

Her alternative? “Make small changes that you can actually live with so that they can sustain past January.”

If there’s one thing about Sacks, its that she’s going to make finance feel fun, fabulous, and just a tiny bit chaotic in the best way. When we ask her to describe financial empowerment as a cocktail, she gives us the most Mrs. Dow Jones answer ever: “A dirty martini… It’s cold, it gets the job done, and you feel chic drinking it.”

The same could be said about her side hobby of sourcing and flipping luxury designer handbags — a skill she talks about with the enthusiasm of someone who’s found the world’s chicest financial cheat code.

“I am an avid collector of vintage designer handbags, and I am very successful at flipping them.”

From Kyoto to Paris, baby-blue vintage Chanel to rare runway pieces, Haley’s bag collection proves one thing: you can be glam and good with money.

But for all the sparkle, humor, and girl boss energy she shares online, Haley’s holiday message is crystal clear. “Protect the symbols of your love… so that you can have the confidence to really wear them safely during the holiday shuffle,” she shares.

So take it from the zillennial finance queen herself: “This season, treat your jewelry like the asset it is,” she says, “and let Jewelers Mutual be the real star on top of your financial tree.”
