Many shows and movies are based off popular YA novels, but only a few of them are worthy of watching. One of them is AwesomessTV‘s Zac & Mia, which premiered on the streaming site go90 earlier this month.

Based off the popular novel by AJ Betts, Zac & Mia is about two teenagers — Zac (played by Kian Lawley) and Mia (played by Anne Winters) — who have little to say to each other but in the hospital, where they’re both being treated for cancer, the usual rules don’t apply. Zac and Mia’s exchanges through their shared wall evolve into a bond that neither sees coming. If cancer is the variable that changed everything, the only constant is their ever-deepening need for one another. They find hope, courage, and each other in the most extraordinary circumstances.

A few weeks ago, Celeb Secrets headed over to the new Awesomeness HQ in Santa Monica for a “Winter Formal” themed cocktail party to chat with the cast and see the first four episodes of the debut season and we CANNOT get enough of it. Filled with real-life situations, Zac & Mia takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions while giving you an eye-opening look how teens battling cancer manage to maintain a normal life. Kian and Anne have amazing on-screen chemistry and are the perfect actors to showcase such an empowering story that can touch anyone, no matter who you are or where you’re from.

Watch our exclusive video with Anne and additional cast members Alexis G. Zall and James Boyd below. Keep tuning in every Tuesday for new episodes of Zac & Mia on go90!
