Rolling Stone announced this morning that Jessie J, Nick Jonas, and Canadian pop star Shawn Mendes will all perform at Musicians on Call’s 15th anniversary celebration, which will take over New York City’s Espace on November 18th. The event will honor Kelly Clarkson and Republic Records Executive Vice President Charlie Walk, both of whom are heavily involved with the nonprofit organization that arranges live and recorded music to be provided to the bedsides of hospital patients across the country.
Musicians on Call was founded in 1999, and since then, artists like Bruce Sprinsteen, Justin Bieber, Paramore, and Clarkson have all partnered with the organization to deliver the healing power of music to kids. “Being involved with Musicians On Call has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career,” Clarkson said in a statement. “I consider it a great gift to be able to share music and bring smiles to these brave children and their loved ones. It is healing for us all and I can’t wait to do it again!”
On September 8th, Jonas performed for patients at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx, New York thanks to the program. ”The power of music can help anyone facing difficult times,” Jonas tells Rolling Stone. “I recently had the opportunity to visit a Musicians on Call program and I couldn’t be more excited to perform at the 15th Anniversary Celebration which raises awareness for such a great cause.”
In addition to Jonas, Jessie J, and Mendes, the 15th birthday party promises “additional surprise performances.” Head over to Musicians on Call’s 15th anniversary site for ticket information.
