Jesse Metcalfe is ready to show audiences a side of himself they haven’t seen before — and fans won’t have to wait much longer.
The actor, best known for his memorable turns in Desperate Housewives, John Tucker Must Die and Chesapeake Shores, is teasing a major new chapter in his career, revealing to Celeb Secrets that he’s currently filming a project set to premiere in February 2027.
“I’m on a new show, and it premieres in February,” Metcalfe exclusively tells Celeb Secrets at the Raising Cane’s Giant Pumpkin Unveiling Event in Hollywood last week. “It’s an opportunity to show a whole another side of myself that people are not familiar with.”
While the 47-year-old isn’t quite ready to spill the details, he says the experience is already pushing him creatively — and keeping him on his toes.
“It’s continuing to challenge me because I’m still shooting it,” he teased.

And acting isn’t the only creative lane Metcalfe has his sights set on. The star also revealed that a major music surprise is on the horizon for the new year, adding another unexpected layer to an already multifaceted career.
“I also love to play music, and I have a big surprise coming in that regard in the new year,” he says.
But even as Metcalfe looks toward what’s next, he’s still appreciating the projects that helped make him a household name. With Desperate Housewives continuing to find new fans among younger generations, the actor says it’s especially rewarding to see the series’ legacy live on.
“It’s cool that people are discovering the show, the younger generation,” he says. “It was a pretty iconic show. I’m super proud to have been a part of it.”
Much like John Tucker Must Die, which has developed a cult-classic following over the years, Metcalfe believes the series’ appeal comes down to something timeless.
“Both have sort of stood the test of time, and I think that’s pretty cool,” he adds.

Of course, fans who’ve followed Metcalfe throughout the years know that there’s more to him than his on-screen heartthrob reputation. These days, the actor is just as passionate about entrepreneurship — particularly when it comes to helping men feel more comfortable in the skincare conversation.
Metcalfe launched Nutrl Skin in April 2025 after years of battling acne and navigating an increasingly confusing skincare market. The clean, unisex brand, which he says he personally formulated, is centered around hydration, anti-aging and effective, uncomplicated routines.
“I’m really proud of the line,” he says, pointing to its newest vegan PDRN Barrier Renewal Mist ($64) and peptide-powered formulations.
And while the actor admits he puts plenty of effort into maintaining his appearance — working out five to six times a week and sticking to a consistent skincare routine — he believes self-care doesn’t have to come at the expense of masculinity.
“You can still be masculine and take care of yourself,” he says.
For Metcalfe, that philosophy extends well beyond the bathroom counter. Looking back on his younger self, the actor says he’d encourage the ambitious teenager who first entered Hollywood to slow down and enjoy the ride a little more.
“I guess I would probably tell my younger self to just enjoy the moment,” he reflects. “I was always kind of looking for what was next, you know, and what the next challenge was.”
These days, he says he’s still driven — but a little more comfortable in his own skin.
“I’m just a little more settled within myself and enjoy my life a little bit more.”

Jesse was one of the many familiar faces that made their way to Hollywood Boulevard to see a massive, 2,613-pound Oregon-grown pumpkin affectionately dubbed “SpongeBlob” presented by Raising Cane’s.
Owner and Founder Todd Graves and Eric Jones Studios teamed up with Food Network Halloween Wars alumni Jamie Louks, Anthony Pater, and Drew Smith to carve the giant gourd that fascinated tourists throughout the holiday weekend.
“We’re getting in the Halloween spirit with Raising Cane’s, and what better way to do it than with a massive pumpkin,” Metcalfe told Celeb Secrets at the event. “This is actually the second-heaviest jack-o’-lantern, because the first is on display in Salem at 3,156 pounds, and this one is 2,613 pounds. So we got the runner-up here in Hollywood!”
Admiring the artistry, Metcalfe pointed out the canine tribute: “Apparently the dog carved into the side is Cane III. I never knew Raising Cane’s is actually named after Todd Graves’ dog — that’s fascinating! And obviously, I’m here to have some chicken fingers dipped in Cane’s sauce. It’s one of my absolute favorites. I usually order a Box Combo… and I’m probably more of a lemonade guy.”
