Every rising pop star has to deal with a little backstage drama, but when a gig goes completely sideways, it might take a little detective work to get the band back on track!
L.O.L. Surprise!: The Next Headliner is turning up the drama this week, and Celeb Secrets has your exclusive sneak peek at the brand-new episode before it hits YouTube on Saturday, October 10.
In our exclusive clip, fans can get ready for the latest chapter in the girls’ journey as they navigate the highs, lows, and unexpected curveballs of chasing their music dreams. Episode 6 puts Electric in detective mode after a disastrous gig leaves the group trying to figure out what went wrong — and how to save their band before one bad night threatens everything they have been working toward.
Since debuting August 1, L.O.L. Surprise!: The Next Headliner has been giving fans a backstage pass to the messy, exciting, and sometimes nerve-racking side of pursuing pop-star dreams. The eight-episode series follows five aspiring performers who arrive expecting to compete for a coveted music industry opportunity, only to discover that their biggest strength might be working together instead of fighting for the spotlight.
The series follows Electric (Olivia Taylor Cohen), K-Crush Kutie (Kate Mina Lin), Shadow Princess (Journey Montana), Violet Angel (Indi Star), and B.B. Bonita (Giselle Torres) — five performers with big personalities, big ambitions, and plenty to learn about what it really takes to make it in music. After initially entering the competition as rivals, the girls form a band and begin carving out a path to stardom on their own terms.
Of course, chasing a dream isn’t always a perfectly choreographed music video. Between self-doubt, friendship drama, and the pressure to prove themselves, the group is learning that being a star means more than delivering a flawless performance. And with their latest gig going wrong, Electric may have to do some serious investigating to figure out how the girls can move forward.
The series is produced in partnership with London Alley, a VICE Media company, and Corinne Marshall, the writer-showrunner behind K.C. Undercover. Chell Stephen (Riverdale, Nurses) directs, while each episode features original music composed by Demitri Lerios and performed by the cast. A full soundtrack album is also set to arrive alongside the season finale, so fans will have even more music to look forward to as the story unfolds.
Will Electric crack the case and help the group bounce back from their disastrous gig? There’s only one way to find out!
