Ever since The CW announced back in March that Jordan Fisher would be joining The Flash family as Bart Allen, aka Impulse, we haven’t been able to contain our excitement about it.
Unlike the comics, the multi-talented actor will be playing Barry Allen’s (Grant Gustin) son from the future, rather than his grandson. Fisher expects to make his first appearance on its 150th episode special, an incredible landmark for the ongoing series.
As they begin filming for the special episode, images on set were released, giving fans a sneak peek of Fisher as the iconic Impulse for the first time, and the suit did not disappoint. Fans were ecstatic to see how accurate the suit for the future speedster was and how much it remained true to the comics.
Along with the first look of Fisher as Impulse, there were also images of Fisher with the scarlet speedster himself (Gustin) AND Nora West-Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy), aka XS. It seems that the family of speedsters will be taking on several enemies together as a team.
This will be Fisher’s first time playing the role of a superhero, but we do not doubt that he will be incredible in the role. Even showrunner, Eric Wallace, confessed to Insider that Fisher was the only actor he felt was the perfect fit to play Impulse.
“He’s funny, he’s charming, but he’s got an edge,” Wallace tells Insider, “But also, he is not the person you’ve seen on ‘Young Justice’ cartoons. He’s not the Impulse in the comic books because he’s older than that.”
Fisher himself hasn’t been able to contain his excitement either! The newly introduced speedster has been tweeting about his experience and also even teased fans about the suit before it got revealed.
