New music from Ariana Grande and The Weeknd is coming!
The award-winning artists are set to release a remix of The Weeknd’s 2016 smash “Die For You” on all streaming platforms this Friday (February 24).
Fans got the hint that a collaboration was coming after Ariana posted a video to TikTok yesterday (February 21) where she is seen editing vocal takes and laying down harmonies to a never-before-heard track following a day of filming for the movie adaptation of Wicked, in which she plays Glinda the Good Witch.
Resharing the clip to her 387M followers on Instagram Grande captioned the video, “Wrote and recorded a verse for my friend after a 14 hour day on set. This certain exception had to be made….”

Minutes after the clip was made public, The Weeknd shares his excitement for the release by posting “⭐️🌙⭐️🌙⭐️🌙⭐️” in the comments section of Ari’s post, to which he later confirmed its release date for this week.

The collaboration isn’t the first from the two chart-toppers. The Weeknd and Grande collaborated on the After Hours remix of “Save Your Tears,” which peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2021, “Love Me Harder” from Grande’s My Everything in 2014, and “Off The Table” from positions in 2020.

The critically-acclaimed four-octave vocal range singer has not released any new music since positions in 2020, as she’s been spending her time focusing on other business endeavors like r.e.m. beauty, her perfume line and acting. It’s been making fans wonder if she’ll ever return to what people truly love her for, and this “Die For You” remix couldn’t have come at a better time.
