Adele is glowing on the cover of ELLE’s Magazine’s September issue, which will hit newsstands on August 30th.
The 15-time Grammy Award-winning artist continues to make waves after a six-year hiatus, returning to the spotlight in 2021 with her fourth album, 30, becoming the year’s best-selling album.
Even though Adele continues to take the music industry by storm, the songstress faced a career low point after canceling her Vegas residency in January. The artist sat down with Elle and dished it all, including her relationship with sports agent Rich Paul and the process behind making the new record.
When it comes to having canceled her Vegas residency, Adele states, “There was just no soul in it, the stage wasn’t set up right. It was very disconnected from me and my band and it lacked intimacy. And maybe I tried to give it those things in such a controlled environment.”
The artist also revealed that canceling her tour left her feeling embarrassed, but later on found confidence in it, stating, “The first couple of months was really really hard, I was embarrassed. But it actually made my confidence grow because it was a very brave thing to do.”
Although 30 was a hit, Adele reveals that writing and releasing the album felt like a slave to her. Now nearly a year after its release, the artist can see how it resonates with the world and fits into her career’s overall picture, telling the magazine, “I like seeing myself in these four different moments of my life.”
Adele also revealed her obsession with Rich Paul. The two first sparked dating rumors in July of 2021 as they were spotted at the Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns game. Since then, it seems as if the couple has gotten serious, buying a 58 million dollar home together earlier this year. The pop star tells ELLE, “I’ve never been in love like this. I’m obsessed with him.”
