JISOO is back at it, and this time she’s taking her acting chops straight to the fashion world!
The BLACKPINK superstar and fashion icon has officially teamed up with London-based house self-portrait once again for a cinematic campaign titled Portraits of a Screen Star. Shot right in Seoul by legendary photographer Oliver Hadlee Pearch, this new series follows JISOO as she steps into four completely different cinematic characters, with each personality shaped through its own wardrobe and performance.
The campaign officially kicks off with episode one, The Enigma, where JISOO plays a curious, whimsical, and playfully cheeky character. Looking effortlessly chic, she models pieces from self-portrait’s latest collection — including a grey button-knit playsuit, a red check frayed-knit jacket, and a head-turning purple faux-leather skirt.
Facing the camera directly in classic audition style, she glides between mischievous, playful expressions and sheer confidence, dropping line readings like: “Maybe we’re not supposed to have everything figured out… I always liked wandering.”

JISOO made history in 2024 as the first musician to front a self-portrait campaign after years of wearing the brand organically. For this concept, founder and creative director Han Chong worked closely with the star to craft wardrobes that directly shaped each character’s identity.
“I was so excited to star in this new series of short films with Han and self-portrait. It allowed me to try something completely new and each character I played required something different from me,” JISOO revealed. “The evolution of the character’s wardrobe was how I found the nuance in each performance and it was a real collaboration with Han and I on finding the subtlety in each role I was going to be playing. I have worn self-portrait for many years and the pieces make me feel like I can do anything — this time, they let me dream that I could be anyone.”

As for what’s next, Chong developed the entire short film format around JISOO’s versatile range as a performer, proving why she remains an essential muse for the house. Each of the remaining three fictional roles will bring a completely unique personality and visual identity to the self-portrait collection.
All four episodes will roll out throughout the month of September.
