Originally from Chino Hills, California, multi-talented Los Angeles-based songstress Brandy Haze found herself primarily influenced by contemporary R&B, trap, house, and electronic dance grooves.
With her debut project Roses, Haze teamed up with Ian Thomas & Leven Kali to create a new style and approach to love songs. The project set a significant milestone for Brandy, whose talent continues to blossom into something special.
With two projects already under her belt, Brandy Haze introduced her latest EP, Silhouette earlier this year. Inspired by the many ups and downs that come with relationships, the project boasts a beautiful tracklist of four sultry and seductive tracks that instantly fill the day or night with an air of nostalgia and charm.
“I like to write about things that are going on in my life, so honestly [‘Silhouette’] is kind of like a love letter — this is my diary,” Haze tells Celeb Secrets in an exclusive interview. “I’m welcoming people into my life [with this EP].”
The EP’s lead single, “On Site,” explores the relationship between two distant but closely connected lovers. The song introduces R&B listeners into the project’s dreamy and light-filled world.
On the inspiration behind the video, Brandy tells Celeb Secrets, “I was definitely [going for early 2000s vibes]. I love the Y2K aesthetic and that’s exactly what it was. It was such a fun video; I love sunsets so I got to have a beautiful sunset in the background with an old school car, so it was really fun making this video.”
Without a doubt, Brandy’s music allows fans and listeners the chance to become seduced by her mesmerizing sound, which is also evident in her latest summery R&B single “California Lies.”
Celeb Secrets hung out (virtually) with Brandy to talk about her music career, what inspires her as an artist, and the plans she has for the rest of the year.
