Today is a big day for LEX — her new album is finally here and we can’t get enough of it.
The Korean-American songstress’ latest project Bits and Pieces, which is available now on all streaming platforms via Fire Tower Entertainment, works through her journey of growth and self actualization, set tragically into motion by the passing of her father.
“I think the general concepts of the album are change and growth — the harshness of life and how awful you can feel sometimes, but that nothing like that is ever permanent. In fact, it is ever changing. This album is about personal growth, and that even though shitty things might happen, it all happens for a reason and you come out a much stronger individual,” LEX tells Celeb Secrets.
“For me, the real journey of self actualization and growth came when my dad passed away suddenly when I was 19. It destroyed me, my family, and everything I had thought I knew. I really started to internalize all my problems, and it really didn’t do me any favors. I had dug myself a 10 ft hole and was now staring up at a pinhole: not knowing how I got there, nor how to get out. It really sucked, and for a few years I really had a hard time surviving and existing. What I’ve come to realize though is that nothing lasts forever. That pain, and that sense of loss, lessens over time. It’s about being okay with the regrets. It’s about being okay with the choices you’ve made (whether good or bad), because in the end we only have one life, and we decide how we want to live it. There’s no point in living a life where you’re so hard on yourself, and for the longest time i was my own worst enemy. And I’m still working on it, but I know how far I’ve come. And I haven’t given up yet.”

Featuring previously released singles “Blueberry,” “Stand Up,” and “Lighthouse” and produced by Michael Blum, Bits and Pieces has something for everyone, proving that LEX is stronger than ever and is ready to conquer 2021 with her exceptional talent.
“I think there’s at least one song in the album that will resonate with any listener. I want someone to listen to the album and feel a sense of validity: that the feelings they have inside of them are valid and that it’s ok to have them. I want people to listen,” she shares. “Listen to the lyrics, self reflect, and then listen to themselves. Put their feelings first for a change and really, truly, deeply, feel. It’s not easy to just sit with yourself, and oftentimes people tend to avoid it altogether, but you cannot have personal growth if you do not get to know yourself first.”
