We just received our first performer announcement for the 2016 American Music Awards and we could not be more excited about it!
ABC and dick clark productions revealed that global superstar Bruno Mars will be opening up the show with a special performance. This marks the singer, songwriter, producer, and musician’s first performance on the American Music Awards stage. In 2011, he took home the trophy for Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist, and has been nominated seven times throughout his career.
We’re hoping that Mars will perform his new single “24K Magic,†which debuted this week at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking Mars’ highest debut to date and his 13th Hot 100 Top 10. Mars is set to release his highly-anticipated third album 24K Magic on November 18th.
Make sure to catch the 2016 American Music Awards Sunday, November 20th @ 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
