Fresh off the release of his six-song EP Playing With Fire, the rising country singer-songwriter is teaming up with Celeb Secrets Country once again to give readers an exclusive first look at the official music video for his standout track, “Both Sides of the Sun,” ahead of its public debut on Friday (July 25).
Packed with infectious energy and the kind of carefree spirit that defines the best summer memories, “Both Sides of the Sun” captures the magic of nights that somehow turn into mornings. The video brings that feeling to life, taking fans from the recording studio where the song first came together to a massive bonfire set on 250 acres outside of Nashville — making it feel less like a music video and more like an invitation to the best summer night ever.
“‘Both Sides of the Sun’ is the shot of adrenaline at the beginning of my new record Playing With Fire — it’s a high-energy, feel-good country song about the best night of summer… from sundown to sunup,” Ruby tells Celeb Secrets Country. “The video starts in the studio where the song begins to take shape and ends at a huge bonfire we threw on 250 acres outside Nashville. We wanted it to feel like the soundtrack to unforgettable nights, and our incredible video team brought that vision to life, led by director and editor Kyle Patton, producer Jake Robinson, and first assistant director Livy VanBuren.”
The visual perfectly complements Playing With Fire, Ruby’s new EP that serves as a love letter to unforgettable summer nights, spontaneous adventures, and the moments that happen somewhere between sunset and sunrise. Alongside fan favorites like “Bonfire,” “Room To Breathe,” and “Take You There Sometime,” “Both Sides of the Sun” closes out the project with an uplifting reminder to soak up every second before the sun comes back up.
“I wanted this EP to feel like one unforgettable night around the bonfire,” Ruby previously shared of the project. “Every song is a different moment in the story — from pulling up at sunset to the memories made after midnight and staying up until you’ve seen both sides of the sun. It’s about taking chances, making memories, and living in the moment. This is my summer soundtrack, written from the heart.”
The release continues what’s already been a breakout year for Ruby. Recently named a 2026 Nashville Scene Artist to Watch, he’s earned more than 40 songwriting cuts while landing on the Texas Country Top 50 and iTunes Country charts.
Beyond music, Ruby continues to inspire as the first active professional baseball player to publicly come out as LGBTQ, using his platform to champion inclusion through his nonprofit, Proud To Be In Baseball.
