Budding Country Star Roman Alexander Releases “Downtime,” a Seven-Track EP With a Super Sexy Feel (Exclusive)

Want to boost your Friday mood? Spend your “Downtime” listening to Roman Alexander‘s brand new EP, available TODAY (June 16th) on all music streaming platforms.

Featuring previously released hits “Mess Me Up,” “Bourbon Street” and “One Tequila,” as well as brand new songs “Yours,” “Downtime,” “Fried Green Tomatoes” and “Guys Like Me,” Roman Alexander’s brand new project features seven sultry songs that are sure to be climbing the charts in no time.

In an exclusive interview backstage at the 50th Annual CMA Fest, Roman Alexander talked to Celeb Secrets host Juliet Schroder ALL about Downtime, giving us some behind-the-scenes secrets surrounding the EP, as well as its beloved title track.

“The first single off the EP is called ‘Mess Me Up’… Since then, we have just been on a roll of just releasing things off that,” the budding country star explained to us prior to his CMA Fest performance at the Hard Rock Stage.

“The title track is called ‘Downtime’ [and] that comes out next week,” he continued with a smile, proceeding to share how exactly the soon-to-be hit song came to be.

The 29-year-old revealed that a “pretty a-class set of writers” wrote the track, featuring both Restless Road AND Brett Tyler, and it was truly love at first listen.

“I heard it and I was like, ‘This would be the perfect song to base an EP around,'” the country crooner gushed. “I used songs that I wrote, songs that I picked… and then just based [the project] around that.”

When asked the overall meaning, message or sound surrounding the EP’s beloved title track, Roman Alexander revealed with a smirk, “I will say ‘Downtime’ is sexy.”

“I think if you’re trying to get in the mood, drinking a bottle of wine, it’s a perfect song to listen to,” the Kansas City native explained, and we seriously could not agree more.

With a super sultry title track and a dash of everything in between, Downtime is truly a no-skip project that is just the beginning of an extremely bright future for Roman Alexander.

Lucky for fans everywhere, it will not be long until they can hear Downtime‘s beloved songs live on the road, as Roman Alexander will be embarking on a headlining tour this fall.

The Mess Me Up Tour will begin in Chicago, IL on September 14th and end in his hometown of Kansas City, MO on October 6th, hitting venues in Indiana, Michigan, Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina in between.

“We’re hitting it hard in the fall and then all throughout the rest of the year and end of next year, so I won’t have much of a life, and I’m really excited about it” the emerging country artist spilled to us.

“I was on the road with Sam Hunt last year and that was really cool to be able to play to not only a massive amphitheater crowd and be direct support, but to be able to hear people sing the words back to your songs and like sing the whole chorus, which was really cool and unique,” Alexander shared, continuing to express his excitement about having his own tour beginning in just a few months.
