Bulls Starting Season Off Without Starting Backcourt As Ball & LaVine Battle Injuries

After an incredible season last year, the Chicago Bulls will be starting off the 2022-23 season without their two starting guards from a season ago in, Lonzo Ball and Zach LaVine. Ball is expected to miss most, if not all, of the season, while LaVine’s knee injury is viewed more as a day-to-day thing for the time being.

Last season thanks in large part to two new acquisitions in DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic, Chicago truly surprised the league by earning the number six seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs after coming into the season without high expectations.

Following their impressive season, they set out to improve their squad’s depth by signing all-star guard Goran Dragic and one of the best rebounders in the league Andre Drummond, to backup Vucevic at the center position.

Unfortunately for Chicago, as they begin this season in Miami on October 19th against the Heat, they will be without both Lonzo Ball and DeMar DeRozan; thus, they are demanding and expecting more of the newly acquired Dragic at the point guard position as well as an acquisition from a season ago in former Lakers champ Alex Caruso.

It will be interesting to see what head coach Billy Donovan has planned up his sleeves to put Chicago in the best possible position to win without their young star guards.
