Cali Tucker Says Mom LaCosta and Aunt Tanya Tucker Have ‘Influenced Her Quite A Bit,’ Talks New Single “Dandelion” (Exclusive)

Cali Tucker, daughter of LaCosta Tucker and niece of Tanya Tucker, is taking the country music world by storm as she paves her way to follow in the footsteps of her world-famous mother and aunt.

The budding songstress is no slouch, as she’s spent her early years touring with her family, which ultimately motivated her to explore her passion for songwriting and performing. She was crowned Miss Teen All American 2000 and received her first contract singing and acting at Dollywood’s Theaters in Pigeon Forge, TN in the same year. Three years later, she found herself making her debut appearance at the Grand Ole Opry along with a spot singing lead and background vocals on her aunt Tanya’s North American tour.

“They’ve influenced me quite a bit,” Tucker tells Celeb Secrets reporter Hannah Gilmore about her talented pedigree during CRS 2022 in Nashville. “I look back and go ‘damn, that was really amazing;’ I had a crazy cool childhood because of who they were, but to me, they were just my mom and my aunt.”

And the grind didn’t stop there.

Cali went on the ink her first publishing deal with Davis Music Group before being a member of Team Blake Shelton on season six of The Voice. The opportunity gave the star-in-the-making the platform she needed to headline prestigious venues in Las Vegas, as well as a cover ablum titled Cover Girl and a Christmas album called Cali’s Christmas

Now focused on putting out her own music, Tucker released her first-ever original song “Dandelion,” which is now available to listen to on all streaming platforms. Describing the tune as an “extreme side of Country Pop,” the entertainer dedicated the song to toxic people. “Someone may look like a flower and be so wonderful, but then they decide to be a weed,” she says. “That’s what ‘Dandelion’ is all about.”

Cali also shares that she is extremely proud of the track as its truly something that’s never been heard before in then genre.

“[My music] is an extreme side of Country Pop,” Cali says. “I knew I wanted to come out of the gates with something really different. I didn’t want to be placed in the category of real country and then explore pop. There is a place to have both and to be able to come out proud of what ‘Dandelion’ turned into is really special.”
