Move over, summer playlist—there is a new track about to claim the top spot, and it’s coming from your newest Disney Channel obsession.
Multi-talented actor and musician Hudson Stone officially announced that his highly anticipated debut single, “Overthinker,” is set to drop later this month on June 24 via Hollywood Records. Written alongside pop-rock masterminds Brian Phillips and Toni Ferrari, the track promises to perfectly introduce Hudson’s signature sound to the world: a flawless blend of vintage guitar riffs, a dulcet-yet-gritty vocal tone, and the kind of deeply personal storytelling that makes you feel like you’re reading a page right out of his journal. It’s diving deep into that ultimate human dilemma of the head versus the heart.
“I wrote ‘Overthinker’ because all my life, I’ve been told that I’m such a deep thinker, which is very true, but it tends to lead to overthinking, which can sometimes get in my way,” Hudson shares in a press statement. “Falling in love, people tend to overthink because they care so deeply about it. When I fell in love, it was the first time I just didn’t think, and my heart took over. So, this song is a reminder to people that love is all about diving in with your whole heart.”
An old soul through and through, Hudson’s musical DNA is inspired by indie and soulful heavyweights like Dominic Fike, John Mayer, The Strokes, and Leon Bridges. To bring his modernized classic indie sound to life, he’s been in the studio with an absolute powerhouse team of A-list hitmakers — including producers who have worked with the likes of Ariana Grande, Niall Horan, and Teddy Swims.

Celeb Secrets caught up with the rising star on the star-studded blue carpet at the 2026 American Music Awards in Las Vegas last month, where his excitement for his upcoming musical era was totally infectious.
“Summer 2026, I’m dropping a few things,” Hudson teased exclusively to our host Juliet Schroder. “This will be my first, my debut to the world as a musician. [It’s] very, very different to stuff that’s coming out, so I can’t wait for people to see.”
When asked if his own track might just be the official “song of the summer,” Hudson laughed, “I’d like to say my song, but I don’t know!”
If a killer debut single wasn’t enough to secure his superstar status, Hudson is also gearing up for a massive summer on our television screens. He is starring as “Desi” in the ultra-hyped, highly anticipated Camp Rock 3 movie before joining the massive Worlds Collide Concert Tour hitting arenas this September.
For Hudson, stepping into the iconic Disney franchise is a major full-circle moment.
“I can’t even describe how wild it is for me to be in this Camp Rock world,” Hudson gushed to us on the carpet. “As a six, seven, eight-year-old kid… I’m watching these movies and idolizing them. You go to camp and you become a pop star? Like, are you kidding me?! Going through this life and living through it has just been insane.”
As for what the OG fans can expect from the third installment? It’s going to be the perfect mix of old-school vibes and fresh energy.
“It’s gonna be so much nostalgia. I think if you’re a fan of the first two, you’re gonna be a fan of this one,” Hudson promises. “But it’s also gonna pull a new audience with new kids, and there’s a new cast, and it’s gonna be insane.”
Of course, we had to ask what it was really like working alongside pop royalty: the Jonas Brothers.
“They’re so cool. They’re, like, such cool people,” Hudson said. “If I was fully grown, I’d hang out with them if they’d let me! They’re so insane, they’re so talented, and really an inspiration to work with.”
He even hints that the soundtrack is bound to be legendary: “I think there’s a few Camp Rock songs that could make it… that could make it into the world [as song of the summer].”

When he isn’t busy trading guitar riffs with Nick, Joe, and Kevin, the Los Angeles native — born to an Australian father and half-Korean mother — is surprisingly low-key. On any given day, you can find him balancing the rockstar life with studying for a calculus final, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, or catching a wave.
“I spend a lot of my time down by the beach,” Hudson revealed. “I love surfing at, like, Carp Point. So if you see me out there, maybe I’ll be out there, yeah!”
