Charli D’Amelio and Chase Hudson (aka LILHUDDY) puts their fans into a frenzy after Hudson dropped the music video for his new track “America’s Sweetheart.” Not only is Hudson talking about his relationship with D’Amelio in the song but she also stars in the video.
Throughout the track, Hudson sings about how he feels alone whether or not he’s in a relationship, and that he’s painted as the “bad guy” while the girl, in this case, D’Amelio, is seen as “America’s sweetheart,” regardless of what happens.
Hudson even shared his relief of finally being able to share this song with all of his fans and the rest of the world, stating that “it’s so personal” to him and he’s been very “protective” over it because of that.

In the video, D’Amelio’s silhouette is seen dancing around in a beautiful flowy red dress and she tries to help Hudson work out the pain he is feeling. Towards the end of the video, the pair are dancing together and hugging as they share a sweet moment, and it ends with D’Amelio close and personal with the camera as she says Hudson’s name.
Their fans are more than happy to see the pair back together again (at least in the video) since the last time the ex-couple was seen in public was back in February when they went out to dinner for Hudson’s release of his second single “The Eulogy of You and Me.”
Hudson has even confirmed that the song is in fact about D’Amelio and that he wrote it during a time that he and the TikTok star were having relationship problems.
“It was written about a time that me and Charli had gone through during the beginning of when we’d first gotten out of our relationship,” he shared with Elite Daily. “Back when quarantine first started, I was going through a really tough time. I wasn’t able to see anybody, go outside, go to a f*cking grocery store. I felt so alone during that time, and that was when me and her were going through our rough sh*t.”
Whether or not Charli and Chase will get back together, we’re just glad this song and music video came from it!
