The American Music Awards is the world’s LARGEST fan-favored award show. The nominees are all based on fan interactions: Billboard charts, streaming numbers, album sales, song sales, and radio airplay. The stats are pulled from September 25, 2020, through September 23, 2021, and are tracked by Billboard/ partner MRC Data. The memorable night honors the best musicians in the industry and their top achievements. Music fanatics can expect a ceremony with an impressive lineup of first-time collaborations, exclusive world premiere performances, and appearances from chart-topping artists from several different genres.

How can I watch American Music Awards?

Pour yourself a fine glass of wine and get ready to be glued to your television screens, because The 2021 American Music Awards will air LIVE on ABC on Sunday, November 21 at 8 pm ET and 7 pm CT. Music goers who don’t have cable have the opportunity to stream the ceremony the next day on HULU or on ABC’s website.

Is there a red carpet?

This year, there will be a socially-distanced red carpet, so get ready to see nominees, presenters, and special guests in their Sunday best before the big show. The PEOPLE and Entertainment Weekly red carpet livestream will be available on people.com, EW.com, PEOPLE’s YouTube, PEOPLE, and EW’s Facebook and Twitter pages. Music-goers can also tune in one PEOPLE TV starting at 6:30 pm ET/3:30 pm PT.

Who is hosting?

The American Music Awards announced that the multi-platinum artist and global phenomenon Cardi B will be hosting the star-studded evening live from the Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater TONIGHT – Sunday, November 21 at 8/7c on ABC. Cardi B is currently nominated in the Favorite Music Video, Favorite Female Artist – Hip–Hop, and Favorite Song – Hip-Hopcategories.

Who will be performing at The 2021 American Music Awards?

Kick on your dancing shoes because the hottest stars in the music industry will be showcasing their incredible talents. Fans could expect to see performances from Silk Sonic, Bad Bunny, Tainy, Julieta Venegas, Coldplay x BTS, Olivia Rodrigo, Chlöe, Måneskin, Carrie Underwood with Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, New Edition, New Kids On the Block, Jennifer Lopez, BTS, Diplo, Tyler The Creator, Mickey Guyton, Walker Hayes, Zoe Wees, and Givēon.

Who are the big nominees?

Breakthrough star Olivia Rodrigo is entering the glamorous affair with a total of seven nominations under her belt. Following closely behind is The Weeknd with six noms – the fan-favorite star is also in the running for Artist of the Year. The competition is stiff in the prestigious category, as Rodrigo, BTS, Ariana Grande, Drake, and Taylor Swift are all in the running and will be going head to head for the title.
