Chris Evans is officially off the market!

The Captain America: The First Avenger star wed actress Alba Baptista over the weekend on Saturday (September 9) at their shared Boston-area residence.

This announcement came as a surprise since the public was unaware of their upcoming nuptials and the intimate ceremony was on the lowdown. Their relationship as a whole has been kept under wraps and details of their love are scarce.

The guest list was filled with A-listers, as John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Jamie Chung, Bryan Greenberg, Scarlett Johansson, Colin Jost, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner were all in attendance. However, their phones — along with other guests’ — were confiscated and NDAs were signed ahead of the Cape Cod ceremony.

An insider told PEOPLE that the two have been flourishing their love over the last year and that “it was kind of love at first sight” for the Marvel actor.

“They got serious very quickly. He kept saying he knew she was the one. He has been ready to settle down for a while. He can’t wait to have a family. He was just waiting for the right girl. They are in love, and Chris has never been happier. His family and friends all adore her.”

Who is Alba Baptista?

Portuguese actress Alba Baptista is best known for Netflix’s show Warrior Nun and Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris. She has also starred in numerous critically-acclaimed Portuguese films and shows including A Impostora, Filha de Lei, A Criação, and Jogo Duplo.

The pair allegedly began dating in 2021 after Baptista followed Evans and his family on Instagram. Social media sleuths continued to document their potential coupling as they noted that Baptista’s mother changed her profile picture to a picture of pumpkins also seen on Evans’ page in 2022.
