The beloved 29th annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Pre-Party is back again this year with Emmy and Tony Award-winner Neil Patrick Harris hosting alongside Sir Elton John and David Furnish, with a special performance by Grammy award-winner Dua Lipa and other surprise guests! (And you can attend, too!)
Like every other event this year, the pre-show party will be held virtually this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Pre-Party is held annually to help raise money and awareness of AIDS and help erase the stigma of the virus.
The Foundation focuses on helping make services regarding HIV more accessible to younger people, seeing as they have a different way of acquiring health care services than adults do. With the world experiencing the biggest pandemic that we’ve seen in the present day, we also need to make sure that we don’t forget how other pandemics affect the community.
“Now more than ever, we need to ensure that one pandemic does not override another,” John says, “And we cannot forget the 38 million people living with HIV globally who need our care, love and support so we hope everyone joins us for this special one of a kind Oscar Pre-Party.”
