Christina Aguilera is the most recent celeb to speak out and show support for her former Mickey Mouse Club co-star Britney Spears.
Ever since Spears broke her silence about her conservatorship battle last week, many celebrities have shown their support in hopes of spreading the word to #FreeBritney and have her conservatorship finally come to an end.
Yesterday (June 28), Aguilera sent out a series of tweets where she gave both her insight on the pop star’s ongoing battle while letting Spears know that she has her support.
The two singers first met when they starred in the Mickey Mouse Club from 1993 to 1994 alongside other soon-to-be household names (at that time) like Justin Timberlake, Ryan Gosling, and JC Chavez.
These past few days I’ve been thinking about Britney and everything she is going through.
It is unacceptable that any woman, or human, wanting to be in control of their own destiny might not be allowed to live life as they wish. pic.twitter.com/NRhNwcJaD3

The “Dirrty” singer spoke out and said, “These past few days I’ve been thinking about Britney and everything she is going through. It is unacceptable that any woman, or human, wanting to be in control of their own destiny might not be allowed to live life as they wish.”
Aguilera expressed in a follow up tweet how someone should never be “silenced” and “bullied” by someone “close” to them.
“To be silenced, ignored, bullied or denied support by those “close” to you is the most depleting, devastating and demeaning thing imaginable. The harmful mental and emotional damage this can take on a human spirit is nothing to be taken lightly,” the singer continued.

During Britney’s virtual court hearing, she shocked listeners and supporters when she revealed that she is forced to perform on stage, is put on lithium against her will, and has to have an IUD in order not to get pregnant, despite wanting to have another baby.
Many celebrities, including ex-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, Paris Hilton and sister Jamie Lynn Spears have expressed how upsetting it is that Spears doesn’t even have control over what she can do with her own body.
Every woman must have the right to her own body, her own reproductive system, her own privacy, her own space, her own healing and her own happiness.

The “Genie In A Bottle” singer said, “Every woman must have the right to her own body, her own reproductive system, her own privacy, her own space, her own healing and her own happiness.”
The conviction and desperation of this plea for freedom leads me to believe that this person I once knew has been living without compassion or decency from those in control.

Aguilera continued, “While I am not behind the closed doors of this very layered & personal yet public conversation – all I can do is share from my heart on what I’ve heard, read and seen in the media. The conviction and desperation of this plea for freedom leads me to believe that this person I once knew has been living without compassion or decency from those in control.”

The singer finished off her series of tweets and said, “To a woman who has worked under conditions and pressure unimaginable to most, I promise you she deserves all of the freedom possible to live her happiest life. My heart goes out to Britney. She deserves all the TRUE love and support in the world.”
