Commanders RB Brian Robinson Jr. Returns to Team Facility Days After Being Shot

On August 28, the Washington Commanders named third-round pick Brian Robinson Jr. their starting running back for the upcoming NFL season. Later that day, Robinson was the victim of an attempted carjacking and was shot twice.

The DC Police Department tweeted out photos of the suspects.

Thankfully, Robinson was rushed to the hospital, and the gun wounds were not life-threatening. Following this horrible incident, Robinson was released from the hospital the following day and was back at the Commanders training facility just two days after this horrific attack. Robinson took to his Instagram story to let everyone know about his positive surgery outcome.

The Commanders tweeted out photos and videos of Robinson went he returned to the team’s facility.

Robinson has a history of battling adversity in his life. Throughout his 5-year collegiate career at the University of Alabama, Robinson was a backup running back for his first four seasons. Thanks to his hard work ethic and never giving up, Robinson earned the starting nod from Coach Nick Saban in his final season in a Crimson Tide uniform.

Robinson should be someone every one of us looks up to, not just as an athlete but, most importantly, as a person. This is someone you want your kids looking up to; in today’s age, it is rare for a player to stay at a respective school with no playing time, the new norm is to transfer, but Robinson has that old-school approach that hard work does pay off.

Regarding the football side of this, the Commanders placed Robinson on the reserve/non-football injury list. This means that he will miss a minimum of four games; as the weeks go by, more clarity will be given as to whether or not Robinson will be able to suit up this season.

That said, the important thing that matters is that Robinson is healthy. This is someone all football fans should be rooting for; the heart and grit of Brian Robinson Jr. are truly unmatched.
