Missouri native Tyler Filmore was introduced to music at a very young age, as his mother from Colombia would blast Latin melodies throughout the house. Therefore, when it was time to sign up for choir in the fourth grade – his name was on the top of the list. Since that very day, Filmore dedicated his livelihood to music and perfecting his artistry.
In high school, he scored the leading role of “Conrad Birdie” in the classic musical Bye Bye Birdie, and it was the audience’s reaction to his jaw-dropping performance that inspired him to take his passion for music to the next level. Therefore, Filmore packed his bags for college and majored in vocal performance at the University of Missouri. Following his jam-packed four years of college, where he spent time honing in on his craft and fronting bands on the weekends – he moved to Nashville to chase his dream of becoming a solo artist.
Upon arrival, Filmore’s energetic stage presence and his unique country-pop sound immediately garnered him a loyal fan base in the honky-tonk town. However, his growing community did not happen overnight, as he is known for being a “yes man” in the industry and booking every and any gig that comes knocking on his door. “There’s been plenty of times when I’ve been told not to say ‘yes, and I still said ‘yes,’ and it either worked out, or it didn’t,” shared the budding musician with The Boot.

Whether he was getting paid for an appearance or money was coming out of his own pocket – Filmore made it his mission to get his music out to the public. In fact, he even worked his own merchandising stand in Colorado while touring with Russell Dickerson in order to make ends meet. After getting picked up by Curb Records and with the release of his breakthrough single “Slower,” penned by Justine Ebach and Steven Dale Jones – his name started to circulate among industries elite.
In a blink of an eye, Filmore found himself performing alongside Sam Hunt, Chase Rice, Jon Pardi, Brett Young, Walker Hayes, Lauren Alaina, and at fan-favorite festivals worldwide. Before he even released his introductory record, State I’m In – he made his Grand Ole Opry debut in 2019. As he continues to climb the ranks in the country music space, he told Celeb Secrets Country that he still can’t fathom fame on the 55th Annual CMA Awards virtual red carpet. “I am excited to even do this, and you guys are taking the time to talk to me on the screen right now, this is amazing. So, I’m all gitty about it, and I feel good,” he shared while dressed to the nines in a western-style get-up.

Filmore continued to express that getting invited to the CMA Awards marks a massive career milestone, and he did not also fail to mention that he is eager to network while surrounded by chart-topping performers. “Tonight is a huge career milestone,” Filmore told Celeb Secrets Country Reporter Tiffany Goldstein. “I would go with a Luke Bryan collaboration or Old Dominion. Honestly, anybody here! Jimmie Allen, add him to the list,” he laughed while rattling off names.
As he poses for photographers on the star-studded carpet, he shared that he took mental pictures throughout the evening and learned from others backstage. While he embraces his well-deserved success, he understands that he must keep up the positive momentum to stay ahead in the ever-changing genre. Therefore, he jumped on his tour bus to continue his run with Brett Young on his The Weekends Tour.
