Derek Hough has tested positive for COVID-19, Celeb Secrets can confirm.
The Dancing With The Stars judge and professional dancer shared the saddening news to his fans via Instagram on Tuesday to give an update on his health and whether or not he will be able to participate in the ahead of the show’s season finale, airing on November 22.
Hough is expected to stay in quarantine for 12 days before he can return to normal activities. Due to the sudden illness, the dancer was also forced to cancel this week’s shows of his Derek Hough: No Limit Residency, which is held at The Venetian in Las Vegas.
“I feel strong,” he said. “I’m currently taking advice from medical professionals, doing everything I can to get better as fast as I can.”

Earlier this season, Hough was sidelined for “Britney Night,” where contestants danced to a song by Britney Spears, after what host Tyra Banks said was a “potential COVID exposure.”
“Although he’s fully vaccinated and tested negative, Derek will sit out tonight’s show out of an abundance of caution,” Banks said on live television on October 4.
Peleton instructor Cody Rigsby and his partner Cheryl Burke also tested positive for COVID-19 that week, despite being fully vaccinated. They were given the opportunity to compete remotely in the safety of their own homes, with the screen making it appear like they were next to each other.
ABC has yet to reveal what protocols will take place with Hough’s absence. There’s a chance that viewers will watch the dancer judge from home on a Zoom call.
