Knives Out 2 is officially in production!
Writer and director Rian Johnson shared some photos from the first day on set to show fans that filming has officially commenced and we’ll soon be able to see what’s next from one of our favorite murder mystery franchises.
Johnson took to Twitter to let his followers know that the cast and crew are all on the beautiful shores of Greece to begin filming the highly-anticipated sequel.
“Aaaaaaaand WE’RE OFF! Day one of filming on the next Benoit Blanc mystery,” Rian captioned a photo of a camera with a picturesque view of the ocean. “Thanks to all the lovely patient people here in Greece for letting us do all this murdering on their peaceful shores.”

Featuring a star-studded cast with Daniel Craig reprising his role as detective “Benoit Blanc” along with Dave Bautista, Kathryn Hahn, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Leslie Odom Jr., Kate Hudson, and newest addition Madelyn Cline, Knives Out 2 is sure to be an intense follow-up to the first film. Johnson is yet again tapped write and direct the second film, as well as the upcoming third flick that will be released at a later date.
Back in March, Netflix acquired the rights for the next two installments in a $450 million deal back in March. The first Knives Out grossed $311 million worldwide and was nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the Academy Awards in 2019.
We are still in the dark about when Knives Out 2 is set to stream on Netflix, but we hope to have more details after production wraps later this year.
