Grab your lightsaber and get ready Star Wars fans, because the next chapter of the saga is coming sooner than many thought.
On February 9, Disney+ and Star Wars announced an official release date of May 25 for their long-awaited limited series Obi-Wan Kenobi.
The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.
Not only is the limited series made by Lucasfilm like the rest of the franchise, but to fans’ excitement the series will star Ewan McGregor, who will be reprising his role as the iconic Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, as well as Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader.
Joining the already star-packed cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie.
The show is executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor and Joby Harold.
Obi-Wan Kenobi will debut exclusively on Disney+ May 25.
